Jharna Rahman
Jharna Rahman, born on 28th June 1959, is a contemporary writer, poet, novelist, essayist, playwright and lyricist of Bangladesh. She has been writing for almost fifty years. As a creative writer she mainly deals with various crises, obstacles, hardship and potentialities of our life and society. Stratification of acute feelings of human minds and multidimensional perception of joys and sorrows are easily portrayed in her writing. She has authored more than fifty publications on various topics so far.
She also translated a few of stories into Bangla and published in prestigious magazines or collections. She has also co-edited Ganthagolpo, a collection of short stories in Bangla and Tomari Naam Bolbo, a special poetry collection on Tagore in his 150th birth anniversary. She is the editor of Poron katha (literary magazine) and Agrasar Bikrampur Potrika (Tricentenary magazine of history heritage literature and culture.) Now she is the editor of Fortnightly Anannya sahittyo. She has achieved many prestigious awards for her literary works, such as: Bangla academy sahittyo puroskar 2021, Anannya sahittyo puroskar 1427, Bangladesh writers club sahittyo puroskar 2020, etc.
